International Business - Monclova, Mexico

The San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is an important part of the City of San Marcos’ Sister Cities Trade Investment Promotion (SCTIP).  San Marcos' sister city is the city of Monclova located in northern Mexico.  Both the San Marcos Hispanic Chamber of Commerce as well as the San Marcos Area Chamber of Commerce are currently communicating with our counterparts in Monclova.

It is the goal of the SCTIP to provide each city the opportunity for international business.  Representatives from both San Marcos and Monclova are working to survey businesses in both cities to decipher our international business needs and interests and analyze our potential for trade and investment among the businesses.

On September 24, 2008, a delegation from San Marcos including City officials and staff, Police and City Marshall’s office, and members of both the Area Chamber and the SMHCC visited Monclova to further our sister city relation and develop business and city contacts.

SMHCC Board members Julio Rosado and Manuel Garcia
with Area Chamber President Phyllis Sondgrass.

Delegates visited Santiago Apostol Parish Church.

SMHCC Board member Manuel Garcia had the opportunity
to meet his colleagues at the Wal-Mart in Monclova.
