The Inca Trail to Machu Picchu is rated among the best trekking trips in the world because of the exquisite beauty of its natural surroundings. These include different ecological areas from high deserts to Andean tropical rainforest. Following this ancient Inca trail we will be walking through mysterious archeological sites, half covered by jungle overgrowth, that looks like you are discovering them for the first time and finally arriving to the lost city of the Incas, Machu Picchu.

Package Includes

  • Transportation from Cusco to Km 82, starting point of the trail

    Vacation Package Itinerary
    Day 1

  • You will be picked up at your hotel in Cusco and go on to Urubamba where there will be a brief stop, then on to Chillca to start the trekking. You will have lunch in Miskay with an additional rest of a half hour approximately, then you will start the trek to the first campsite. Along the way you will visit the archeological site called Llactapata.(L, D)

    Day 2

  • You will have breakfast early and start trekking to the highest point of the Inca Trail, where you can see different ecological zones and enjoy changing climates. You will cross the Warmiwa?uska pass at 4200 meters above sea level. After lunch you will continue on to the campsite at Paqaymayo and enjoy dinner and a well deserved rest. (B, L, D)

    Day 3

  • You will walk approximately 45 minutes up to reach the second pass at 3850 meters above sea level, and will visit Runkurakay along the way. You will also visit the Sayacmarka archeological group and then go on to the Phuyupatamarka ruins. After lunch you head to Wi?aywayna where you will spend your last night. (B, L, D)

    Day 4

  • After an early breakfast, you start on the final leg of the trek to Machu Picchu. You will arrive at Intipunku where you will have a panoramic view of the Machu Picchu citadel. After a short hike down to Machu Picchu, you will register and start on your 3 hour guided visit. After enjoying the ruins, you will take the bus down to Aguas Calientes where you will have free time to enjoy the town before returning to Cusco. (B)

    What to bring for the Inca Trail:
    A mid-size backpack, thick cotton socks, bandana, rain wear (a large rain poncho), T- shirts, flash light and batteries, Ssorts and warm trousers, water bottle, water purifying tablets, sweater and jacket, sun block, hiking boots, insect repellent towel and bathing suit, coramina (glucose), hat , one complete change of clothing.

    Suggested:
    Camera, binoculars, snacks, toilet paper, Peruvian currency and your own personal first aid kit and medicines.

    Important:
    The guides will have basic medicines available included oxygen, but we recommend bringing your own ointment for swollen feet, sticking plasters, aspirin, etc.
    Group Size: 6 to 15 (average 12 persons)

    Space is limited and your desired travel dates may not be available if you wait, so book early to avoid disappointment. We highly recommend 2nd and 3rd choices for travel dates and/or accommodations.

    Prices are per person based on double occupancy and a 30-day advance purchase. Purchases within 30 days will incur additional shipping and handling fees.

    Not included: Lunch and dinner on the last day: after the guided tour at Machu Picchu, you can enjoy free time to further visit the ruins and choose to have lunch either in Machu Picchu or in Aguas Calientes at your own expense. Arrival in Cusco is estimated around 9.00pm, dinner being at your own expense too. Visit to the hot springs in Aguas Calientes: a relaxing way to end-up the trek while you?re awaiting the return train to Cusco, only 10 minutes from the village center, entrance fee is US$ 1,50. Towels can be hired in Aguas Calientes.

  • Passport information required for Peru:
    Your full passport information is required to issue flight and train tickets. In addition, some services and lodges require notification of your food restrictions and allergies for confirmation.
