White sand beaches… sparkling azure ocean views… romantic, exciting Caribbean nightlife… Cancun is all of this and so much more.

I just returned from the Omni Cancun Hotel and Villas, in the heart of Cancun’s world-famous Hotel Zone. They offer an unrivaled all-inclusive experience in one of the most exciting resort destinations in the world. The Omni is a six star “Gran Tourism” resort, situated between the spectacular Mexican Caribbean and secluded Nichupte Lagoon. The spirit and culture of the Mayan civilization are echoed throughout this modern newly renovated resort, both in architecture and design accompaniments.

The Omni Cancun is perfect for families. Upon check-in parents are provided with a list of top family attractions in Cancun, local emergency numbers and a safety/first-aid kit including a night light and outlet covers. There are many options available for the family to enjoy together at the resort, or mom and dad can enjoy time alone, or relax with a treatment at the full-service spa while their children have a ball in the Omni "Sensational Kids" program. While there, your children will enjoy plenty of kid-minded amenities, a goodie bag and menu choices prepared especially for young travelers.

When you are ready for a meal, the Omni has a number of fabulous dining options to choose from. DaVinci features fine Italian cuisine in an intimate setting surrounded by recreations of the master’s best-known works. Pina Colada serves up seafood and grilled specialties in a gorgeous beachfront setting and La Paloma exudes traditional Mexican warmth and flavor for breakfast, lunch and dinner a la carte and buffet style.

The Omni also presents quite a few fun settings in which guests 18 and older can indulge in some adult beverages including a swim-up pool bar and Kuku’s Jacuzzi Beach Bar –a giant Jacuzzi right on the beach with an attached bar!

With three pools on site, a full-service spa, beautiful beachfront, daily activities, great restaurants, unparalleled service and a comprehensive all-inclusive package, you could never leave the hotel. The Omni Cancun also offers an extremely knowledgeable concierge service to popular area tours, shopping and dining.

Carbon Dioxide emissions, the principal cause of global warming, are an inevitable consequence of energy use. Every time an individual or organization uses energy for lighting, fuel for transport, etc., additional carbon emissions are released into the atmosphere.

Offsetting means paying someone to reduce the CO2 in the atmosphere on your behalf. In that way we mitigate the impact of out activity to help fund our transition to a lower carbon world. We encourage you to learn more and consider if buying carbon offsets is appropriate for you.

Other Ways to Lower Your CO2 Emissions
The big culprit behind global warming is CO2. The less we create, the better it is for the planet. We can all help by taking a few simple steps, like these…

  • Use compact fluorescent light bulbs.
  • Adjust your thermostat by 2 degrees.
  • Set your programmable thermostat to insure that the air and heat do not run as often while you are out.
  • Carpool to work once a week.
  • Get reusable water bottles instead of disposables.
  • Print fewer e-mails.
  • Look for "Energy Star" appliances and computers.

To learn more or to do your part by offsetting the emissions from your travel click the link below,

Planet-Wise Travel Choices
Fly Silverjet across the pond, and now to Dubai. The United Kingdom-based carrier is the first airline to build carbon offsets into the price of each ticket, and it’s the first carbon-neutral airline.

Rent a fuel-efficient, environmentally friendly car from the new Hertz Green Collection. Choose from a Toyota Prius Hybrid, Subaru Outback, Toyota Camry Ford Fusion, Buick LaCrosse, or Hundai Sonata, all of which have an EPA rating of 28 miles per gallon or more.

Probably the No. 1 trend is the greening of the hotel industry," American Hotel & Lodging Association president Joe McInerney says. Eco Resorts and Hotels such as the Clayoquot Wilderness Resort  and The Intercontinental Resort and Thallasso Spa are becoming more available world wide.

Negotiating crowds at airports is hard even for seasoned fliers. With kids in tow, it is even more turbulent.

KidsTravel1. Send must-haves ahead. Powdered formula, extra clothes and diapers, gifts and souvenirs can be sent via mail, FedEx, or UPS and services such as luggage concierges.

2. Book non-stop flights early in the day. Delays get worse as the day goes on. Even if a non-stop costs a little more, it's worth it.

3. Explain to children ahead of time why they have to let the security officers "take a picture" of their blankie or teddy bear. Kids tend to get upset about letting go of belongings, and that can really slow down the security line.

4. Build in extra time. Also remember, if you are stressed, kids will be stressed, too. Checking in online can also help save time.

5. Plan for delays. Bring extra diapers, formula and food. Because of long lines, you may not have time to buy food before you board. Pack protein and non-messy, healthy snacks.

6. Prep older kids flying solo. Make sure he or she knows to alert a flight attendant if a flight is late and a connection will be missed. Also, give teens cash for food, and make sure they have a fully charged cell phone.

7. Bring entertainment. Unless you are flying JetBlue, plan to entertain the kids on board. A laptop or portable DVD player with earphones is great. Bring a 'surprise' for younger kids, maybe markers, a new game, or a new DVD.

8. Don't forget first aid and an extra set of clothes in your carry-on. Also, be prepared for the changes in air pressure, with something for kids to suck on (bottles for babies).

9. Consider travel insurance. Insurance can pay if you are stuck someplace, if your luggage gets lost, or if you can't go.

10. Enjoy yourselves. Look at time on the plane as quality time with your child. When else are you sitting next to your child for several hours without anything else to do?
