Northern British Columbia is one of the last corners of the earth to offer absolute wilderness, The Great Bear Rainforest is the largest intact temperate rainforest left on earth. It is the home of many diverse and unique species of animals including the Spirit Bear, the elusive rainforest wolf, pods of Orca whales and numerous bald eagles. Everyone has read of it. Only a privileged few experience it for themselves.

The setting for King Pacific Lodge is unspoiled nature as far as the eye can see. Range after range of mountains. Virgin forests, mountain streams, pristine lakes. The air is clear and pure. It's like being present on the morning of creation.

The Lodge is located on the north coast of British Columbia, 56 miles south of Prince Rupert -- the nearest town and our "gateway city." The southern tip of the Alaska panhandle is located just north of Prince Rupert. The area has been home to the Tsimshian people for over 10,000 years and evidence of their history and culture are everywhere. The nearest Tsimshian settlement is just across Douglas channel 45 minutes from the lodge by boat.

Princess Royal Island is an uninhabited paradise for the many species of animals and birds. It has a deeply indented fjord-like coastline, innumerable rivers and streams. Princess Royal and a few of the surrounding islands are the only known home of the elusive Spirit Bear.
