Airline Terminal Changes at London Heathrow

DATE: October 4, 2007
ATTN: Travel Manager/Arranger/Travelers

London's Heathrow Airport is in the midst of massive transformations - over the next few years almost the entire airport will be rebuilt, refurbished or redesigned in order to better meet the demands of today's travelers

The changes include:

  1. The re-development and modernization of Terminal 3 by the end of 2007.
  2. The demolition of Terminal 2 in 2008 and the construction of a brand new passenger terminal (Heathrow East) to replace Terminals 1 and 2 in time for the London Olympics in 2012.
  3. The opening of Terminal 5 in March 2008.

In order to accommodate current passenger volume in the midst of these improvements, many airlines have/will change terminals during the construction process.  These shifts may be confusing to passengers, so attached is a list of all planned terminal moves (according to the British Airports Authority).
