The capital and largest city in Paraguay. Population 500,000, situated on the banks of the mighty Rio Paraguay. A busy and vibrant place, except on Sundays when everything closes except the shopping malls. A mix of horrid 60's architectural mistakes and very beautiful 19th century buildings. The city is a pleasure to walk and full of interesting things. Tree-lined avenues and blossoms everywhere
