Some facts about train travel in Europe/Britain.

1. If the schedule says the train leaves at 8am, it is rolling at 8am! In most cases, when you are departing the train in a small city you only have 1 or 2 minutes to get on or off. When your city is announced, be prepared!

2. They have split trains ie. part of the train goes to Paris, and part to Rome. The split may occur at night, so be careful about what rail car you are in. Check with the conductor or station manager.

3. There are usually 2 classes of services, 1st class and 2nd class. Within those, there is smoking and non-smoking.
