    Day 1Mexico CityMexico City : We depart on our flight to Chihuahua Mexico. Upon arrival, our guide greets and takes us to our hotel where we enjoy dinner and overnight. (D)
    Day 2ChihuahuaChihuahua : This morning, a city tour of the splendid mansions of Chihuahua, the Quinta Gameros (an elegant turn-of-the-last century residence, now Cultural Centre of the University of Chihuahua) and the nearby Historical Museum of the Mexican Revolution-Pancho Villa. We visit the Cathedral of St. Francis of Assisi, gracing the Plaza of The Constitution, built between 1717 and 1826. With its Baroque façade embellished with statues of the 12 Apostles, this is the most impressive ecclesiastical building in all of Northern Mexico. Afternoon at our leisure. Dinner at the hotel.     Day 3CreelCreel : Early departure this morning for a trip to the Mennonite Community near Ciudad Cuauhtemoc, about 1 hour from Chihuahua City, with its museum-replica of a traditional Mennonite home. We will enjoy a snack lunch of "queso, pan y vino" and a sample of the local salami. Continue our scenic drive through the beautiful mountains and plains of the State of Chihuahua en route to the logging town of Creel arriving in time for dinner on our own. (B,L)
    Day 4CreelCreel : Morning tour of the nearby places of interest-the mysterious rock formations of the Valley of the Mushrooms. See the Tarahumara Indians in their cave homes. Visit the Old Jesuit Mission of San Ignacio and enjoy a picnic lunch at the beautiful Arareco Lake. Afternoon walking tour of the town of Creel including a stop at the local Arts & Crafts Museum. Dinner and evening on our own. (B,L)
    Day 5CerocahuiCerocahui : Morning departure from Creel to Posada Barrancas. An early lunch will be served as we enjoy the spectacular views of Copper Canyon from its dining room overlooking the cliffs. Board the train to Bauhuichivo, about an hour away, followed by a 40-minute bus ride to the Hotel Mision in Cerocahui, enjoying the breathtakingly beautiful panorama of the canyon en route. This afternoon is at leisure. Visit the local XVIII Century Mission Church, restored in the mid XX Century by Father Lara, who subsequently founded the Cerocahui Mission School of El Tehuecado in 1941. Optional horseback riding (at additional cost). Dinner and overnight at the hotel. (B,L,D)
    Day 6El FuerteEl Fuerte : This morning, a special visit to "El Tehuecado," a boarding school for young Tarahumara Indian girls next to the hotel. We are welcome to bring U.S. school supplies to the students and interact with them. Early lunch on our own prior to boarding the train for El Fuerte, passing through the most dramatic points of the canyon along the route. Late afternoon arrival. Transfer to our hotel by bus. After check-in, dinner at the hotel. (B,D)
    Day 7El FuerteEl Fuerte : This morning, a walking tour of the town, followed by a tour of the Mayo Indian reservation of Tehueco, a tribal culture similar to the Apaches and Navajos of the Old West. Watch them make pottery and Indian artifacts and perform their ancient dances in their village. Continue with an optional birdwatchers' river raft adventure, cruising quietly down the river for a totally natural interaction with local flora and fauna. Dinner at the hotel. (B,D)
    Day 8ChihuahuaChihuahua : After an early breakfast at the hotel, we transfer to the train station for the trip to Divisadero where we will make a short stop for shopping prior to boarding our bus back to Chihuahua. Special farewell dinner en route back to the hotel. (B,D)
    Day 9New YorkNew York, NY : Transfer to the airport for our flight home. We arrive home the same day with memories of our neighboring country Mexico. (B)
