Imperial Capitals Tour Itinerary:

Day 1 Vienna/Prague
Morning departure at 8:00 am from the Vienna State Opera House or 8:15 am from Hotel Mercure City to arrive at noon in the Czech Republic's capital city of Prague. After lunch on your own, enjoy an afternoon city tour including Wenceslas Square, Charles Bridge, Old Town Square, and the Jewish Quarter. Dinner and overnight at the Holiday Inn Prague. (D)

Day 2 Prague
A full day to enjoy Prague. The morning is spent on a visit to the old center of town including St. Vitus Cathedral, where Good King Wenceslas is buried; Hradcany, also known as Prague Castle; and the Golden Lane. Lunch in a pub-style restaurant. Afternoon and evening at leisure. Overnight at the Holiday Inn Prague. (BB, L)

Day 3 Prague/Budapest
Depart after breakfast for the trip to Budapest, stopping along the way at Bratislava for lunch on your own and a brief city tour. Dinner and overnight at the Hotel Mercure Korona. (BB, D)

Day 4 Budapest
Sightseeing today in Budapest includes the Heroes Square with the Millenium Monument and views of the Parliament building. Continue on to Gellert Hill and the castle district, including St. Matthew's Church and Fisherman's Bastion, where you'll have a spectacular view of the city. Lunch at the hotel and then the afternoon is free. Tonight you may participate in a traditional Hungarian folkloric dinner (optional). Overnight at the Hotel Mercure Korona. (BB, L)

Day 5 Budapest/Vienna
Depart from Budapest for the return to Vienna, stopping at Lake Balaton, the largest steppe lake in central Europe, and the Tihany Peninsula, a popular resort area in Hungary. After lunch on your own, continue along the lake back to Vienna via the spa resort of Sarvar to the historic town of Sopron. The tour ends at approximately 6 pm at the State Opera House. (BB)
