Whale watching and kayaking Glaciers, eagles and bears Camping on Vancouver Island

Western Canada contains some of the most striking scenery and abundant wildlife in North America. On this diverse trip we spend time both high in the mountains and down at the sea, experiencing all the best this region has to offer. Glistening glaciers, alpine meadows, lakes and forests adorn the Coastal Mountains, whilst black bears and bald eagles frequent the slopes. The Vancouver Island region is a marine life paradise amongst tranquil islands with pristine beaches and ancient rainforest. The highlight, however, is likely to be whale watching, as sightings are virtually guaranteed, and Orcas, Grey Whales and Humpbacks may be seen.

Itinerary:

Day 1 Start Seattle. Overnight in hotel. 2-3 To beautiful Orcas Island where we can sea-kayak, hike and go sightseeing. 4 To Victoria on Vancouver Island where we learn about the First Nations and natural history of the region. 5-6 On to Tofino for a salmon BBQ by the beach, whale and bear watching and some gentle walks. Camp by a beautiful Pacific beach. 7 To Nanaimo; ferry to mainland and drive to Whistler. 8 Easy hiking amongst glaciated mountains and waterfalls. Optional mountain biking or zip-line tours. 9 To Vancouver and all the attractions of Canada's most beautiful city. 10 Cross the border and to Seattle. Tours round Pike's Market and optional tour up the Space Needle. 11 End Seattle.

Group size: Min. 8, max. 13 plus leader/driver.
