 Mexico in Depth
Our Mexican adventure starts in the huge metropolis of Mexico City and nearby Teotihuacan, once Mexico's largest ancient city and home to the huge Pyramids of the Sun and Moon. Our next stop is the Spanish-built city of Oaxaca, where we can explore lively markets or relax in one of the many cafes, before visiting Monte Alban, the ancient capital of the Zapotecs. San Cristobal is a charming town with a lively, bohemian atmosphere and is home to many indigenous Indian communities. Further on is Palenque, with its magnificent jungle ruins and pristine waterfalls. We cross the Rio Usumacinta into the Yucatan Peninsula and continue on to Merida, where we visit the Mayan sites of Uxmal and Chichen Itza. Our journey comes to an end at the lively holiday city of Cancun.
