- Tobago was once ruled by a myriad of European powers, including the Spanish, Dutch, French and British, and was decreed a British colony in 1814. Tobago achieved independence in 1962.
- Tobago, along with her sister island of Trinidad, are home to the two-day explosion of color, pageantry and abandon that marks Carnival. Come join in the parades and dance to the hot Calypso and Soca music that fills the air.
