I am Jean Russ a travel advisor new to Central Florida. I have some news to share regarding Port Canaveral. I have been in love with this port for quite some time. It has easy access, Great parking rates, and a wonderful selection of hotels for those who need to stay overnight. And with a close proximity to many drive-from cities more passengers can arrive by car. The port is touting that it will be the largest cruise port in the not distant future. There is room to add more berths, where most ports are tapped out. There are lots to see and do in Central Florida to make interesting pre and post stays. Orlando with its many theme parks is only 45 min. away. The Kennedy Space center has now housed the Space Shuttle Atlantis. And we have a new Explorations Tower with outstanding views, a cinema, and 4 floors of interactive exhibits to take you back in time as well as forward to a time as yet unknown.

I just heard that in the next year 2016, we will be adding SEVEN cruise ships to the port. Cruises ranging from 3 to 9 night sailings will depart from Port Canaveral. In November of 2016 we will be getting the Royal Caribbean, Oasis of the Seas, one of two sister ships that are the largest cruise ships in the world. There will be several ships offering three and four day sailings, great for a little get-a-way from our area. Spend a few days at Sea and enjoy great food and outstanding entertainment. Here is the list of the new ships, perhaps you will decide to sail on one.
