Day 1 Arrive San Jose Arrive in San Jose at any time.
Day 2-5 Costa Rica Costa Rica is a must-see for the breathtaking flora and fauna. Travelling from cool highland cloud forest to rainforest gives a full spectrum of the country's diverse natural highlights. Take time to bird watch, ride a horse, or try mountain biking. Soak up some pure mountain air before moving on to Nicaragua.
Day 6-10 Nicaragua The Nicaragua of today is an adventure traveller's dream with incredibly friendly people, natural beauty and untouched locations. Whether it's wandering Granada's charming colonial streets, hiking around an active volcano, soaking up the splendour of Ometepe Island or taking a day trip on the country's famous lake, Nicaragua is unforgettable.
Day 11-15 Honduras Head into Honduras and visit Utila, one of the Bay Islands, where we can pass the time diving or snorkelling in crystalline waters or taking it easy. Next, explore the outstanding ruins of Copan, which has temples, pyramids and intricately carved stellae (statues) that predate many European civilizations.
Day 16-25 Guatemala Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage site, was once the seat of the Spanish colonial government and the most important city in all of Central America. From here, we have a chance to visit to the famous market of Chichicastenango and stunning Lake Atitlan. Then it's east to Rio Dulce which is surrounded by dense jungle on the banks of Lake Izabal. Our final stop in Guatemala is Flores, a picturesque island town on Lake Peten Itza located close to the Mayan ruins of Tikal.
Day 26-29 Belize We cross the border and make our way to the Cayo area to explore the region's lush vegetation and stunning caves. This is easily done from the town of San Ignacio. Belize is most famous for is barrier reef and laid-back Caribbean atmosphere, both of which are found on Caye Caulker, our next destination in the country.
Day 30-31 Mexico Located about an hour south of Cancun, Playa del Carmen is an oceanside town with a big reputation on the Mayan Riviera in Mexico. Spend your time snorkelling among the mangroves, parasailing, relaxing on the beach or take an optional visit to Tulum, the marvelous beachside Mayan ruins.
Day 32 Depart Playa del Carmen
