Day 2-3 Playa del Carmen Once you settle into your beach chair under a palm frond palapa next to the Caribbean sipping a margarita, you?ll understand why Playa del Carmen is one of the stars of the Mayan Riviera. Chill out on the beach or try parasailing, snorkelling or diving in underground caverns (cenotes).
Day 4-5 Merida After a stop at the legendary Mayan ruins of Chichen Itza, make your way to Merida, the capital of the Yucatan State. Known as "la ciudad blanca" (the white city), Merida is a cultural centre for the region, with a top-notch museum and public performances most nights. Explore the colonial centre on foot or in a horse-drawn carriage, take a trip to the Uxmal ruins, visit Progreso beach or spend the nights dancing like the locals!
