14 days incl. air, or 12 days from Rio de Janeiro to Lima
On this South America vacation, explore two of the great cities in Brazil and Argentina at a relaxed pace followed by an exciting trip to Peru. Your trip begins with a 3-night stay in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. While here, visit 1,300-foot-high Sugar Loaf Mountain and ascend a cable car to its summit. Savor spectacular views of the city while toasting your upcoming vacation with a favorite Brazilian cocktail. A guided sightseeing tour takes you to the cathedral and to the statue of Christ the Redeemer crowning Corcovado Mountain, a rounded peak rising 2,300 feet from the bay below. Take the scenic cog railway ride to its top for 360-degree panoramic views. In Rio de Janeiro, enjoy plenty of free time to relax, explore on your own, or join optional activities and tours.

Next, fly to Iguassu Falls and witness the spectacular beauty of this natural waterfall with its 2-mile-wide torrential downpour. The clouds of spray, the incessant roar, and the surrounding luxuriant tropical growth make this an unforgettable natural wonder. Tour the Argentine side of the Falls on the Ecological Jungle Train before flying to Buenos Aires, Argentina's vibrant capital city.

Spend three nights in Buenos Aires and enjoy a guided walking tour of the city. On a sightseeing tour, see La Boca, a colorful district and site of the city's first port. Also, visit the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Cemetery of the Recoleta, the burial site of Eva Peron. Witness a flawless performance of Latin America's most sensuous dance-the Tango! You have a full day of leisure to tour the city at your own pace or join an optional tour to the Pampas, where you experience the atmosphere of Argentine country life.

Finally, fly to Lima, Peru, where a guided sightseeing tour shows off the city's colonial heritage. Visit the Larco Herrera Museum to see the dazzling Peruvian pre-Columbian artifacts. On to Cuzco, once the capital of the Inca Empire. Visit the Sacred Valley, Kenko Amphitheater, Puca Pucara, and Temple of Sacsayhuaman. It remains unfathomable how and when this fortress of gigantic stones-with some blocks weighing more than 350 tons-was built. Stop at Pisac, an old mountain village, where you have an opportunity to meet the locals and experience their way of life. Then the highlight of the vacation-legendary Machu Picchu, 'The Lost City of the Incas.' Your Local Guide will bring you closer to the mysteries still hidden in these amazing structures. From Machu Picchu, visit the Inca Fortress of Ollantaytambo on your way back to Cuzco to learn more about the Incas on a guided tour. Fly to Lima and enjoy a final day for touring on your own-a perfect way to end your exciting vacation to Brazil, Argentina, and Peru.
