2009: BRITISH COLUMBIA EXPLORER WITH VICTORIA EXTENSION (VTEB)
10 days from Vancouver to Vancouver
Explore beautiful British Columbia. Start in Vancouver. Set amid the Coast Mountains and on the edge of the Pacific Ocean, Vancouver offers the best of city life and nature's beauty. Visit Robson Street to experience world-class shopping, explore spectacular Stanley Park, or grab a bite to eat on Granville Island. Then, head east to Okanagan Valley, famous for its outdoor activities and great wines. Perhaps take the southern route via Osoyoos to Penticton. Along the way you will find several great wineries. For a great introduction to wine touring, stop at the Wine Information Centre in Penticton. It offers tastings and information about all the wineries in the area. Then, head north to Kelowna, the perfect base for outdoor activities like boating, swimming, and hiking. Enjoy the many local wineries or visit one of the many local orchards. Next stop is the village of Whistler. Here you can ride the Whistler Gondola to the top of Mount Whistler. See stunning mountain scenery and enjoy lunch at the Roundhouse Lodge. After a strenuous day, relax at one of Whistler's many spas and wellness centers. Then, return to Vancouver along the stunning Sea-to-Sky Highway to end your vacation. Take a ferry (not included) to Vancouver Island and the "City of Gardens." Take a walk around the bustling inner harbor, stop at the Royal BC Museum, or indulge yourself with Afternoon Tea at the historic Fairmont Empress Hotel. Take a whale-watching cruise or travel to magical Butchart Gardens-a 55-acre floral display offering spectacular views from its sprawling lawns and meandering paths.
