This is a well-balanced vacation in Scandinavia. Start your trip in Stockholm, Sweden's capital, and travel via the Lake District to Helsingborg. From here, you cross by ferry to Copenhagen, Denmark, where you can take pictures of the Little Mermaid and enjoy leisure time. Next, sail to Norway. Visit Heddal Stave Church, the largest of Norway's remaining medieval wooden churches, and Vemork, scene of the daring sabotage action celebrated in The Heroes of Telemark. From Telemark enjoy a scenic drive via the famous Latefoss waterfall and Hardangerfjord to picturesque Bergen for your two-night stay. The next two days include a romantic boat cruise on the Sognefjord and a ride on the world-famous Flam train, followed by a relaxing train ride to Oslo, where your sightseeing tour features a visit to City Hall and a stroll through Frogner Park, with Gustav Vigeland's 193 extraordinary bronze and granite sculptures. A farewell dinner in Oslo is included-a grand finale for your Scandinavia vacation to Sweden, Denmark, and Norway. Fly to Iceland and spend 3 nights in Reykjavik.

Day 2Stockholm(Wed.) Time to rest or to start exploring Sweden's capital. At 6 pm, meet your traveling companions for a welcome drink hosted by your Tour Director.
Day 3Stockholm(Thu.) Sightseeing with a Local Guide features the Royal Palace, Riddarholm Church, and the festive blue and gold chambers in the CITY HALL. Afternoon at leisure. An optional outing to the fascinating Wasa Ship Museum is available. (B)
Day 4Stockholm-Jonkoping(Fri.) Enjoy the Swedish countryside during a comfortable drive south via Lake Malar and the old garrison town of Orebro to historic Vadstena. Continue along Lake Vattern to Jonkoping for your overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 5Jonkoping-Copenhagen, Denmark(Sat.) Cross by FERRY from Helsingborg to Denmark and enjoy vistas of Hamlet's Kronborg Castle at Elsinore. Continue to Copenhagen, capital of Denmark. Afternoon sightseeing with a Local Guide features the Church of Our Savior and the Stock Exchange on the way to Christiansborg Palace, where you visit the elegant ROYAL RECEPTION ROOMS. Drive past the National Museum and the Royal Theater, and snap pictures of Amalienborg Palace and the LITTLE MERMAID statue. Tonight, you may wish to join an exciting optional excursion to Tivoli Gardens. (B)
Day 6At Leisure in Copenhagen Overnight Cruise to Oslo Harbor, Norway(Sun.) Full day at leisure to further explore this pretty city, to relax, or to join exciting optional excursions. In the late afternoon, board your ship for the overnight NORTH SEA CRUISE to Norway. (B)
Day 7Oslo Harbor-Telemark(Mon.) After disembarkation, stop to admire the Heddal STAVE CHURCH, the largest of the country's remaining medieval wooden churches. Via Lake Tinnsjoen-where saboteurs sank a ferry loaded with heavy water, ruining Nazi hopes of winning the race for the atomic bomb-enter the Rjukan Valley. Then the highlight of today: a guided visit of VEMORK, scene of the daring sabotage action celebrated in The Heroes of Telemark. Learn about the dramatic events of 1943 and gain insight into the technology of hydroelectric power generation, one of the pillars of Norway's economy. Continue to rustic, unspoiled Telemark. (B,D)
Day 8Telemark-Bergen(Tue.) Today, see thundering Latefoss Waterfall and continue via Odda and the orchards along Sorfjorden, whose tranquil splendor inspired Grieg's Morning Mood. Cross Hardangerfjord by FERRY, and arrive in picturesque Bergen. (B)
Day 9Bergen(Wed.) During your orientation tour, learn about Bergen's 11th-century origins and its association with the Hanseatic League. Time later to stroll through the narrow lanes of ancient Bryggen and to ride the funicular up to Mount Floyen. (B)
Day 10Bergen-Flam(Thu.) This morning, a scenic drive to Gudvangen. Next, the highlight of today: a leisurely CRUISE on one of Norway's most famous and splendid fjords, the Sognefjord. Arrive in the late afternoon in Flam for your overnight stay. (B,D)
Day 11Flam-Myrdal-Oslo(Fri.) Today, experience breathtaking Norway. Start the day with a ride on the famous FLAM TRAIN to Myrdal and see the magnificent Kjosfossen Waterfall. Then, change to the Bergen-Oslo TRAIN which takes you across the Hardanger National Park and through the beautiful Hallingdalen Valley to Norway's capital, Oslo. (B)
Day 12Oslo(Sat.) Sightseeing with a Local Guide features the National Theater, Parliament, and the Royal Palace. Stroll through magnificent FROGNER PARK with Gustav Vigeland's sculptures and visit the modern CITY HALL. Afternoon and evening at leisure to relax or to shop for sweaters! You may wish to join an optional excursion to see relics of Norway's glorious seafaring past: elegant Viking ships, Thor Heyerdal's Kon-Tiki raft, and more. Day 13Oslo-Reykjavik, Iceland(Sun.) Transfer to Oslo Airport for your flight to Reykjavik. Enjoy an orientation of the city with your Local Host, and a welcome dinner at your hotel. (B,D)
Day 14Reykjavik(Mon.) Full-day excursion. Start with the geothermal town of Hveragerdi and continue to Volcanic Crater Kerid, the bishopric of Skalholt, Geysir, which gave its name to all hot springs, and to Gullfoss, the Golden Waterfalls. Then, drive through the enchanting National Park at Thingvellir. (B)
Day 15At Leisure in Reykjavik(Tue.) Your Globus Host will have suggestions how to spend the day. (B)
Day 16Reykjavik-Blue Lagoon-Keflavik-Homebound Flight(Wed.) Visit the presidential site of Bessastadir, the lava town of Hafnarfjordur, famous Blue Lagoon, and The Rift. Homebound flight in afternoon. (B)
