Dinner and cocktails are served on board. | | Day 2 | Dublin | Saturday: Dublin : Morning arrival at Dublin Airport. Having cleared Irish customs we are greeted by our Celtic Tours driver/guide. Transfers from Dublin Airport are at 8:15 am and 11:15 am to our Dublin hotel. Your afternoon is free to explore Dublin on your own. Dublin offers many fine dining options, the theatre and night-life to enjoy. Overnight in Dublin. | | Day 3 | Cork | Sunday: Dublin - Waterford - Cork : Early morning departure from our hotel, we travel south via County Kildare to Kilkenny Town where we pause to visit Kilkenny Castle, ancestral home of the Butler Clan. We continue on to the nearby Crystal City of Waterford to visit the famed Crystal Factory. Our tour continues south to Cork City for dinner and overnight. | | Day 4 | Killarney | Monday: Cork - Cobh - Blarney - Killarney : Morning visit to Cobh Heritage Center, which documents the history of Irish emigration and the story of the ill-fated superliners-the Lusitania and the Belfast-built Titanic. We continue on to Blarney for an optional visit to Blarney Castle where we have a chance to kiss the famed Blarney Stone, said to bestow eloquence on all who dare. Optional shopping for tweeds, knitwear, crystal and china at Blarney Woollen Mills. We travel over the scenic Cork and Kerry Mountains to Killarney for dinner and overnight. Tonight we have an optional visit to the lively pubs in Killarney. | | Day 5 | Killarney | Tuesday: Ring of Kerry - Killarney : "Heaven's Reflex," Killarney, we will see, is one of Ireland's loveliest districts. Poets, painters, writers and musicians have all tried to convey the beauty of its mountains and lakes. A delightful day includes a drive along the coastline of the broad Iveragh Peninsula through the villages and towns of Killorglin, Cahirciveen, Waterville and Irish-speaking Sneem. Dinner and overnight in Killarney. This evening optional pub visits in Killarney. | | Day 6 | Bunratty | Wednesday: Killarney - Dingle Peninsula - Bunratty : Departing Killarney, we drive along the Kerry coast to the Dingle Peninsula, which offers magnificent coastal scenery. Beyond Slea Head, we see the Blasket Islands, the last outpost of Europe. We continue on via Limerick to Bunratty and check-in to our hotel. Tonight we visit Bunratty Folk Park for a traditional Irish night of home cooked food, excellent wine and some of the finest singers, dancers and musicians from local villages. | | Day 7 | Galway | Thursday: Bunratty - Galway : Morning departure from our Limerick hotel. We travel via Ennis to the scenic Cliffs of Moher where we stop for a photo-op. Continue to Ardrahan in County Galway where we pause for morning tea/coffee and scones at Rathbaun Farm. Here we will see a farming family carry out everyday chores including sheep shearing and watch as the sheepdogs maneuver the flock. We continue on to Galway City. Dinner and overnight in Galway. | | Day 8 | Donegal | Friday: Galway - Sligo - Donegal : Morning departure from Galway. We travel north via Sligo, birthplace of W.B. Yeats to County Donegal where we cross over the border for a visit to the Belleek China Factory. After a short stop, we continue on through Donegal town and Ballybofey and along the coast of Lough Foyle to the Carlton Redcastle Hotel & Spa for dinner and overnight. | | Day 9 | Donegal | Saturday: Donegal : Today we visit the Glenveagh Castle -itself surrounded by one of the most spectacular gardens in Ireland -and the Glenveagh National Park, with 40,000 acres of mountains, lakes, glens, and woods, not to mention its own red deer population. A quick drive from there and we'll step back in time to the days of St. Colmcille (521 - 597), who introduced Christianity from the end of the Roman Empire to the early Medieval pagan period: The Colmcille Heritage Center offers a fascinating display on the life and times of this outstanding figure among the Irish missionary monks. From there, sightseeing continues via Horn Head (on the Atlantic coast), and we return to Letterkenny for dinner and overnight. | | Day 10 | Belfast | Sunday: Donegal - Coleraine - Giants Causeway - Belfast : Morning departure from our Donegal hotel. We travel the short journey to Derry where our local guide joins us for a tour of this historic city which includes the medieval city walls and St. Columbus Cathedral. Departing Derry, we travel via Limavady to Portrush on the Atlantic Ocean. Visit the Giants Causeway Museum before we are ferried by small bus to the Causeway and its volcanic columns, which were formed over 60 million years ago. Our tour continues along the scenic Antrim Coast to our Belfast hotel for dinner and overnight. | | Day 11 | Dublin | Monday: Belfast - Titanic tour - Newry - Dublin : This morning we depart on a historical tour of Belfast and its harbor and dock area, where the Titanic and her sister ships, Britannic and Olympic, were built. The Titanic keel was laid here in 1910 and the majestic ship sailed from Belfast to Southampton in England on April 3, 1912 where she took on supplies, coal and crew for her fateful journey into destiny. Leaving Belfast, we travel south via Newry to Dublin, arriving at our hotel approximately 3:00 pm. Tonight we depart our hotel for an Irish cabaret show and dinner at The Merry Ploughboy Pub. Overnight in Dublin. | | Day 12 | Dublin | Tuesday: Dublin. TOUR CDA: Dublin - U.S. : Passengers on this tour (CDA) have an early morning departure for Dublin Airport arriving at Dublin Airport at 7:00 am. Choose TOUR CDB and stay an additional day! TOUR CDB: Depart our hotel at 9:15 am for a half-day city tour of Dublin, including a visit to historic Kilmainham Jail, which covers some of the most heroic and tragic events in Irish history from 1780 to the 1920's. Next, we visit the famed Guinness Brewery Storehouse to learn about the world famous Irish beer and enjoy a sample brew in the rooftop bar. Have your camera ready for some magnificent panoramic views of Dublin City. A guide will show you around the Guinness shopping experience as your tour ends. Your half-day sightseeing tour ends in central Dublin, where you are free to shop or browse or you may stay on board and return to our hotel | | Day 13 | Return Home | Wednesday: Dublin - U.S. (CDB option only) : Early morning transfer to Dublin Airport for arrival at 7:00 am. Passengers who have later departures can avail of a second transfer to Dublin Airport, arriving at 10:00 am. Ample time allowed for check-in and duty free shopping before boarding your flight home. Arrive home in the U.S. the same day. *On Day 07 - Four departures (May 15, May 22, May 29 and July 24) will overnight in Castlebar, Co. Mayo as opposed to Galway. On Day 11 - Two departures (May 01 and May 08) will overnight at the Europa versus the Dunadry in Belfast. |
