KINGS CANYON WILDERNESS LODGE
Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge is exclusively located on Kings Creek Station, a fully operational cattle and camel ranch of 695 square miles. Set in an exclusive part of the ranch, among the Desert Oak trees, Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge is sure to give guests a memorable Australian Outback experience. The 10 unique, air conditioned tented cabins with full private ensuite facilities offer the greatest of comfort in the Outback, with a perfect opportunity to absorb the natural landscapes. Enjoy Australian gourmet-style dining around the campfire under the stars of the southern sky (weather permitting). A delicious three course dinner and breakfast are included.
Day 1: Alice Springs-Kings Canyon
Depart Alice Springs and stop at the Camel Farm before arriving at Kings Creek Station, a working cattle and camel ranch. Proceed to Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge. Settle in then depart for a guided walk of the rim of Kings Canyon. Dinner tonight is under the stars around the campfire. Taste some Australian delicacies such as camel, kangaroo and barramundi (fish). Overnight: Kings Canyon Wilderness Lodge (D)
Day 2: Ranch Tour, Uluru Base Tour & Sunset
After breakfast, tour the cattle ranch for a chance to spot wild camels, kangaroos and other wildlife. See ancient Aboriginal petroglyphs (rock engravings). Return to the lodge to freshen up before departing for Ayers Rock Resort. This afternoon visit the Cultural Center and Maruku Arts & Crafts Co operative. Join a guided walk to Mutitjulu and view cave paintings. After the guided Mala Walk, hear the story of the Mala people who lived at Uluru, explore Kantju Gorge. Enjoy a complimentary glass of wine as you watch the sunset at Uluru. Overnight: Ayers Rock Resort, Outback Pioneer Hotel (standard), Desert Gardens Hotel (first class) or Sails in the Desert (deluxe) (B)
Day 3: Sunrise, Kata Tjuta, Walpa Gorge
Rise early and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee as you witness Uluru at sunrise. Travel to the western section of Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park to the immense 36 rock domes of Kata Tjuta. Enjoy a guided walk into Walpa (Olga) Gorge. Marvel at the sheer walls that flank you as you enter the gorge. Transfer to Ayers Rock airport for flights after midday.
