If you want a first introduction to Britain but don't have a lot of time on your vacation, you will enjoy this tour. Start your trip in London, travel north, and follow your Tour Director on a walking tour through the university city of Cambridge. Then head to York, England's most medieval city, for a walking tour through York's maze of quaint streets. See a section of Hadrian's Wall, the Roman coast-to-coast defense against marauding northern tribes, before arriving in Edinburgh, where you visit mighty Edinburgh Castle during the sightseeing tour with your Local Guide. This afternoon, Edinburgh, the "Prince of Cities," where sightseeing with a local expert introduces you to the 200-year-old "New Town" and famous scientists, inventors, and novelists. In the "Old Town," drive up the narrow Royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle to admire Scotland's Crown Jewels. Your optional Scottish night out features Highland dancers, bagpipers, and the Ceremony of the Haggis. For August 9, August 16 and August 23 departures, tickets are included for tonight's performance of the world-renowned Military Tattoo, a vast spectacle of massed Scottish pipe bands which takes place in an arena on the esplanade of Edinburgh Castle. Air booked in conjunction with a land vacation is considered an air-inclusive vacation. Air can only be booked by Globus in conjunction with a land package and is only available for passengers traveling from the United States. For vacation departures in 2008, your final air-inclusive vacation price is guaranteed when your air schedule had been confirmed and your entire vacation package has been paid in full. For vacation departures in 2009, an additional $250 non-refundable deposit (total $500 non-refundable) is required for air booked in conjunction with any land vacation and your final air-inclusive vacation price is guaranteed when your flight information is confirmed and Globus has received your full land and air deposit.
