The Swiss gems of Zurich and Lucerne provide the perfect starting point before experiencing the romantic spirit of the Rhine and peaceful Main. Marvel at some of Europe's grandest Baroque jewels at the Würzburg Residenz. Visit one of Mark Twain's favorite cities, Heidelberg, and meander through Miltenberg, with its half-timbered houses that lean crookedly against one another. Take a gondola ride over Rüdesheim's vineyards, and then savor the fl avors of its wonderful wines. While in Bamberg and Frankfurt, be treated to a tasting of their famous beers. Conclude your journey in fairytale Prague.
Day 1 : ARRIVE IN ZURICH, SWITZERLAND
Arrive in Zurich and check-in to your hotel. Spend your day exploring this beautiful town.
Day 2 : ZURICH
Your morning city tour of Switzerland's largest city, Zurich, includes Grossmünster Abbey (which offers exceptional views of Zurich), St. Peter (which boasts the world's largest church clock face), Old Town, Town Hall and Fraumünster Abbey, home to five world-famous Chagall windows. The afternoon and evening are free for you to explore the town on your own. (B)

Day 4 : ZURICH -LUCERNE- EMBARKATION
Check out of your hotel and head off on a scenic drive past three lakes before reaching Viztnau. Upon arrival, enjoy a cruise across the tranquil waters of Lake Lucerne, surrounded by spectacular mountain scenery. Afterwards, you'll join a city tour and then have some free time to before transferring to Basel to embark your cruise and indulge in a Welcome Dinner. (B, D)
Day 5 : STRASBOURG, FRANCE
Capital city of France's Alsace region, Strasbourg is situated on the Rhine at the German border. After arriving this morning, enjoy either a panoramic bus tour or guided bike tour that will take you past the Orangery, the town's oldest park, the European Parliament and the Place de la Republique. Afterwards, explore on foot with a walking tour of the lovely "La Petite France" neighborhood, where you will see the Gothic cathedral with its famous astronomical clock. You also have the option of exploring Strasbourg on a guided hike that begins at the Orangery and makes its way to the cathedral. The remainder of the day is yours to spend as you wish before the ship departs tonight. (B,L,D)
Day 6 : MANNHEIM, GERMANY
This morning, cruise through the picturesque Rhine Gorge, admiring its many castles and fortress ruins and the legendary Lorelei Rock. Arrive in Mannheim, where you have a choice of either visiting the city's famed Baroque Palace or joining a walking tour of Speyer, one of Germany's oldest cities, known for its cathedral, numerous churches and the medieval Altpörtel (Old Gate). Continue on to Rüdesheim, where tonight you will enjoy an exclusive wine tasting. (B,L,D)
Day 7 : RÜDESHEIM - FRANKFURT
Your exploration of Rüdesheim continues with your choice of one of three excursions: a gondola ride above the town to see the Niederwalddenkmal Statue followed by a wine tasting with a local vintner; a visit to Siegfried's Mechanical Music Museum, home to a remarkable collection of old robotic and self-playing musical instruments; or a half-day excursion to the historic university town of Heidelberg, where you will visit the red-walled castle with its Great Vat (a 49,000-gallon wine cask) and enjoy beautiful views of the Neckar Valley and city below. Afterwards, you'll cruise to the metropolitan capital of Germany, Frankfurt, where you'll take in the sights on a panoramic city tour. Tonight, immerse yourself in local flavors with an authentic Romerberg beer tasting. (B,L,D)
Day 8 : MILTENBERG
Wake up in Miltenberg this morning and either join a walking tour of this delightful old town, with its narrow cobblestone streets and steeply gabled houses, or indulge in a tasting of local specialties. (B,L,D)
Day 9 : WURZBURG
This morning's guided tour of Würzburg will show you all of the city's major sights, or you may prefer to visit the Residenz Palace and gardens, a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site. You also have the option to participate in a local wine tasting. (B,L,D)
Day 10 : BAMBERG
Arrive this afternoon in enchanting Bamberg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you will have one of three ways to explore. The first is a guided walking tour of this medieval gem to see its cathedral, Old Town Hall and elegant old mansions, as well as sample some of Bamberg's famous smoked beer. The second is a guided bike tour along the Main River, and the third is a Bamberg Specialties tasting where you will enjoy smoked beer, licorice root and Hornla, a local favorite whose recipe dates back to 1427. This evening, we continue cruising towards Nuremberg. (B,L,D)
Day 11 : ARRIVE IN PRAGUE, CZECH REPUBLIC
Depart the ship after breakfast transfer to Prague, where you will check into your hotel. (B)
Day 12 : PRAGUE
This morning, choose between a standard city tour and a hike. Both will reveal why Prague is considered one of Europe's most attractive cities, with a historic city center that's recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see Rudolfinum, the National Museum, Wenceslas Square and the Hundertwasser Dancing House. Next, visit the 1,000 year-old Prague Castle and St. Vitus before walking over the romantic Charles Bridge to the Old Market Square, where you will find the capital's famous Astronomical Clock, Tyn Church and the statue of Jan Husek. The rest of the day is at your leisure, perhaps to enjoy yourself in one of the city's many charming cafés. (B)
Day 13 : PRAGUE
Spend a day at your leisure, perhaps to stroll through a museum or gallery, wander along the banks of the Vltava River, relax at an outdoor café, or shop for local handicrafts. (B)
Day 14 : DEPART PRAGUE
Bid farewell to Prague and prepare for your homeward flight. (B)
