This course can be quite a challenge because of the mounds and bunkers strategically placed throughout its design. It has a desert ambiance, but the natural terrain doesn't come into play. Set in the Sonoran Desert and surrounded by the majestic McDowell Mountains, the TPC of Scottsdale--a PGA TOUR facility--embodies the standards of excellence. The TPC of Scottsdale was designed as the stage for the Phoenix Open -- the largest spectator event on the PGA TOUR. Each year, more than 500,000 fans come to the TPC of Scottsdale to see the Phoenix Open. |
