Massive sandstone cliffs conjure up imaginary shapes. Hidden waterfalls and pools carve their way down to the river. Wildlife is abundant, with frequent sightings of elusive Blue Heron, soaring eagles, and majestic Big Horn sheep. At night, the walls unveil a heaven of innumerable stars overlooking the Grand Canyon We would end up at Lake Mead.
Arrive Las Vegas. Meet at the Desert Rose Hotel. Western River Expeditions will pick us up in a bus and take us to North Las Vegas airport, where our group will board a plane that will take us to the Bar 10 Ranch for an overnight stay on the Grand Canyon Rim complete with horseback riding and cowboy entertainment.
After our ranch stay, we'll experience a spectacular helicopter ride down to the Colorado River. I have never been in a helicopter and will probably love it! Think of all the great pictures we can take!! We will then river raft and spend 2 nights camping and rafting. On this section of the Grand Canyon, the Colorado River's famous whitewater, though still exciting, is a bit tamer. The wildlife and scenery are astounding.
A bus will pick us up and take us back to Las Vegas. We will also stop for a photo shoot at Hoover dam.
