If you were to open your own agency the minimum requirements to get started would be:

  • A store front lease with deposit, monthly rent, and utilities.
  • Airline computer installation. Service averages about $800.00 a month.
  • A $20,000.00 minimum security bond.
  • Must have capital totaling $25,000.00 to $50,000.00 to acquire ARC/IATAN approval.
  • Must have a high salaried full time manager with at least two years experience as a retail travel agent.
  • Franchise purchase cost that start at $25,000.00 on average and franchise fees based on your production. High volume agents pay higher fees then the lower producing agents. For franchises it will require all of the above, lease, bond, and working capital.
