Dinner is served shortly after take-off. | | Day 2 | Drogheda | Saturday: Dublin: Early morning arrival at Dublin Airport, where we are met by our Celtic Tours driver/guide after clearing customs. Transfer by deluxe motorcoach via Slane and the historic Boyne Valley to our Drogheda hotel. Time to rest, relax or independently explore. Dinner and overnight in Drogheda. Tonight, optional pub entertainment. | | Day 3 | Dublin | Sunday: Dublin : Time to enjoy your first full Irish Breakfast. Morning departure for a visit to the Guinness Brewery in nearby Dublin. A panoramic view of Dublin includes the Phoenix Park, the largest public park in Europe, which houses the residence of the American Ambassador to Ireland and the President of Ireland. The park is also home to the Dublin Zoo. Return to our hotel in the mid-afternoon. Some free time before dinner at our hotel. Optional pub entertainment tonight. | | Day 4 | Waterford | Monday: Dublin - Kilkenny - Waterford : Morning departure from our hotel, we travel south to Kilkenny, where we have time to stroll this ancient city. Shop, browse or visit Kyteler's Inn, the oldest pub in Kilkenny. Optional visit to Kilkenny Castle, ancient home of the Butler Clan. Mid afternoon departure for nearby Waterford, arriving at our hotel at approximately 4:00 pm. Dinner and overnight in Waterford. | | Day 5 | Killarney | Tuesday: Waterford - Blarney - Killarney : Morning visit to teh world famous Waterford Crystal Factory. Leaving Waterford, we travel south to Cork and Blarney. Visit Blarney Woollen Mills for optional shopping for knitwear, tweeds, crystal and china. Enjoy a pub lunch. Contnue over the Cork and Kerry mountains to Killarney for dinner and overnight. Optional pub entertainment tonight. | | Day 6 | Ring of Kerry | Wednesday: Ring of Kerry : Today, we depart on one of Ireland's most popular and beautiful drives, the Ring of Kerry. Traveling from Killarney we come to the town of Killorglin, famous for "Puck Fair," and from here we commence the ring tour. Our drive is along the coastline of the broad Iveragh Peninsula, through the towns of Glenbeigh, Cahirciveen, Waterville and Sneem. The scenery is spectacular as wind-swept cliffs, still lakes, lost valleys and rocky mountains blend in awesome beauty. As one looks around it is easy to agree with the old Irish saying, "Even if a man has only a small bit of earth here, he has a lot of the heavens." From Sneem, we continue via "Ladies View" back to Killarney. Dinner and overnight at our Killarney hotel. | | Day 7 | Return Home | Thursday: Shannon Airport - USA : After breakfast we have a leisurely departure for nearby Shannon Airport where our tour ends approximately 10:30am. Ample time allowed for last minute duty-free shopping before boarding our flight home. We arrive back in the US the same day. |
