Back in ancient times, honeymoons were celebrated differently. According to two theories on the origins of the honeymoon, newlyweds would drink a fermented honey drink for one lunar month, hence the term "honeymoon," or the groom would steal the bride away from her family to test them for one month prior to the wedding. Today's definition of a honeymoon might not include drinking honey or worrying the bride's parents, but it can be just as varied.
