Day 1Depart HomeHOME CITY - SANTIAGO - VINA CONCHA Y TORO
Meet and Greet upon arrival to the Airport, and Transfer to your Hotel. Afternoon, depart for Pirque, bordering the Maipo Valley, area characterized by Chile's most traditional vineyards and ideal for the production of elegant red wines. Vina Concha y Toro, founded by the Marquis de Casa Concha in 1883, today combines over 750 hectares of vineyards in the region elaborating noble Chilean wines of French origin including Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Semillon, Gewurztraminer and others.
Day 2Vina UndurragaSANTIAGO - CITY TOUR - VINA UNDURRAGA
Following breakfast, enjoy City Tour of Santiago, Chile's beautiful cosmopolitan capital city, a mix of modern and classic European architecture. Visit La Moneda, Chile's Presidential Palace, the Church of San Francisco, La Catedral, Cerro Santa Lucia, the chic Providencia and El Golf district, and the beautiful residential area of Las Condes. Afternoon, depart from hotel through the rural Chilean countryside to Vina Undurraga founded in 1883 by Francisco Undurraga Vicuna, great admirer of Europe who in his travels brought back from Germany seedlings for Riesling, and Sauvignon Blanc, Cabernet Franc, Merlot and Pinot Noir from France. In 1885 under the supervision of the French technician, Pressac, he planted his first vineyards. B
Day 3Chilean Wine RouteSANTIAGO - CURICO - CHILEAN WINE ROUTE
Following Breakfast, depart for the train station to board train for two and a half hour scenic ride through the Chilean countryside to Curico. Meet and Greet upon arrival to Curico to enjoy exciting Chilean Wine Route, the heart of Chile's viticulture. Visit and tour three vineyards in the area, and enjoy typical lunch in a local restaurant before returning to Curico for train ride back to Santiago. Meet and Greet upon arrival and Transfer to your hotel. B, L
Day 4MendozaSANTIAGO - ANDES MOUNTAIN CROSSING - MENDOZA
Following breakfast, Transfer to Bus Depot to board modern motor-coach for dramatic overland crossing of the Andes Mountains on route to beautiful Mendoza, Argentina. The crossing is a wonderful 6 hour drive through the Chilean countryside, continuing up the Andes Mountains, enjoying dramatic vistas of the Potrerillos and Uspallata Valleys and Aconcagua Provincial Park, the highest mountain peak in the western hemisphere, and then descending to the city of Mendoza. Meet and Greet upon arrival to Mendoza's Bus Depot and Transfer to your hotel. Afternoon, brief visit of the city, followed by Welcome Dinner. B, D
Day 5MendozaMENDOZA - VINEYARD VISITS
Following breakfast, tour the Mendocino countryside for visit of three or four important local wineries. Enjoy delicious Lunch and generous servings of the local wines. Visit concludes with an introduction to the region, its wine culture, grapes, production and storage processes. Sundown, return to hotel. Day 8Buenos AiresBUENOS AIRES - CITY TOUR
Following breakfast, enjoy City Tour of this beautiful city reminiscent of many European capitals with its narrow streets and wide tree-lined boulevards, turn of the century architecture, sidewalk cafes, elegant window shops, and lively night life. City Tour begins on busy Avenue 9 de Julio, the impressive Colon Theatre and famous Obelisk, key symbol of the city. Continue to Government district, the Legislative Palace dating to early 20th century. Then to historic Plaza de Mayo and beautiful Casa Rosada, the Presidential Palace. Nearby is the Cathedral where the remains of Argentina's greatest national hero, the liberator General San Martin, lie. Continue to colorful Italian inspired Boca District and funky outdoor art displays. Ring along port of Buenos Aires to magnificent homes of Palermo district and elegant shops of Recoleta district. Day 9Buenos AiresBUENOS AIRES - TANGO & DINNER SHOW
Day at leisure to shop the smart boutiques along Florida and Avenida Santa Fe. Leather and suede, and Argentine handicraft are absolute musts at bargain prices. In the evening, pick up from your hotel in the evening for a night to remember in the Senor Tango, Buenos Aires' premier palace of the tango, the sensuous, steamy, dramatic dance of Argentine couples. Enjoy a delicious dinner complete with wine as you thrill to a wonderful floor show sketching the history of this popular Argentine music made famous by singer Carlos Gardel, marvelling at the couples' artistic, synchronized movements on the stage.
