A warm welcome from our Tour Director as we drive to Dover and view the White Cliffs. From here a short Channel crossing takes us to Calais in France and on to the elegant capital, Paris. (Continential breakfast)

We drive through the Forest of Fontainebleau and the wine-growing region of Burgundy. Then follow the valley of the River Saone until it joins the Rhone at Lyon and continue along the fertile Rhone valley to Avignon, where we see the Palace of the Popes and the old bridge.
