Paklenica & Plitvice National Park
The string of lakes in Plitvice present some of the most staggering scenery in Croatia: hemmed in by densely forested hills, the bright turquoise waters form a series of waterfalls cascading through a unique limestone landscape. We hike the numerous trails, experiencing the lakes, caves and waterfalls of this UNESCO world heritage site. Paklenica is our base for four nights. Located on the southern slopes of the Velabit Mountains and inhabited since pre-historic times, the park remains a relatively untouched wilderness.
Coastal Dalmatia
Following footpaths that start in the National park and then embrace the higgledy-piggledy coastline our route passes by rural villages, as we punctuate our walk with various stops to admire the view along the way includingthe jewel-like islands of the Adriaticwith the option to finish the day with a swim in the clear warm sea.
